This index project was created by Mariana Zambrano and Carolina Rochín at Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, New York City.
It highlights NYC’s street food vendors as a vital and diverse part of the city’s culinary culture, offering an accessible guide to their unique flavors, colors, and stories.
Designed to take readers on a visual journey through the city’s bustling streets, the project combines bold photography with thoughtful graphic details, expressive typography, and vibrant colors to reflect the energy and identity of each food cart. We also explored creative editorial layouts, experimenting with rhythm, hierarchy, and composition throughout.
The cover design mimics stainless steel, inspired by the materiality of NYC’s iconic food carts.
